Broadcasting Complaints

3FM is licensed by Coimisiún na Meán as a DAB+ digital sound broadcasting service. We operate a statutory complaints handling procedure in line with the Broadcasting Act 2009 (as amended) and the Coimisiún na Meán Broadcasting Codes and Complaints Handling requirements. If you believe something we broadcast breached one of those codes, you can lodge a formal complaint with us here first.

How the procedure works

  1. Complain to us first. A complaint must be made in writing (this form, email or post) within 30 days of the broadcast. Where the content was broadcast more than once, or as part of a series, the 30 days run from the date of the last broadcast.
  2. Tell us the essentials. Your name and contact details, the name of the programme or content, the date and approximate time of broadcast, and a clear description of what you are complaining about and which broadcasting code you believe was breached.
  3. We respond within 21 days. We will acknowledge your complaint and issue a written decision within 21 days of receiving it.
  4. Not satisfied? If we do not respond within 21 days, or you are unhappy with our response, you may refer the complaint to Coimisiún na Meán within 21 days of receiving our decision (or within 21 days of the deadline passing).

Coimisiún na Meán, One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, D04 NP20 — www.cnam.ie. Full details of the codes and the referral process are available on their website.

Note: complaints about music choice, general taste in programming, or scheduling are not code matters — use the contact page for those. Your personal data is processed only to handle your complaint, as described in our privacy policy.
